Yesterday after dinner, I was reminded of the chilly-sweet bliss of Yogurtland's frozen yogurt, complete with the various choices of toppings. Fruity flavors, creamy flavors - all aesthetically swirled in a decadent, light treat.
Upon entering the store, I suddenly felt like I had skipped the rest of winter to arrive in spring. The decor in the shop is as cheerful as the music and furniture that enhance a customer's froyo experience. The walls are slick and shiny with green tiles. The florescent-colored tables and chairs almost radiate the light that beams from small, circular bulbs in the ceiling. The decorations are simple and contemporary, targeting groups of teenagers and young adults as its main customers.
On the down side, I found the flavors lacking. In an industry that is especially competitive, Yogurtland should know better than to cut the standard flavors (ie: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry) and replace them with flowery, posh flavors like French vanilla wafers and strawberry cheesecake. The flavors I usually prefer were not present - one of the cons of Yogurtland's standard of rotating flavors every few days.
However, while flavors are increasingly important, I think the texture and consistency of the frozen yogurt is still what matters most. The yogurt was smooth and solid, not milky and watery like the cheap yogurt served from machines at a few unnamed Chinese buffets.
Yogurtland still needs to work on their cleanliness. There were stains between the floor tiles from spilled yogurt, and excess milk was dripping from some of the machines, forming a puddle on the tray. Little details like these may sway some customers to frequent another froyo store. After all, there are multitudes of frozen yogurt shops in Irvine.
I like Cefiore better, but Yogurtland will do.

so eloquently written(:
gosh, you could write spectacularly about anything... even if it's in-n-out or some fast-food joint hahaa (:
and i totally agree with your opinion on yogurtland's cleanliness. did you notice that the quality of the yogurt fluctuated among flavors? when i went, the vanilla had a nice, consistent texture, but the chocolate just poured out from the machine like - for lack of better words - diarrhea.
hahAHAHAH sorry for upsetting your appetite (;
OH & btw. the "new" yogurtland franchise close to northwood pizza is horrible. i found a random piece of hair in mine... X_X
